Triple Moon Goddess

June 30, 2008 at 3:19 pm (magic, medicine, metaphysics, philosophy, religion, shamanism)

This post is geared towards women, I would do a post on men’s mysteries except for the fact that I don’t have the right equipment, and to speak like I had any idea about what it was like to be a man, would be arrogant at best.  So with that being said, in various cultures, the sun and moon are interchangebly associated with male or female dieties.  Most of the time it’s a Sun God and a Moon Goddess, but sometimes it’s vice-versa, in Japan there is a Sun Goddess and The Ancient Egyptian Tehuti or Thoth was a Moon God.  For my purposes though, we’re going to go with majority and discuss the correlation between the moon and the archtypal feminine.

There is a concept in paganism of the Triple Goddess.  Her symbol is pictured above.  Women are naturally aligned to the moon because of their mestrual cycles.  A woman who spends enough time outdoors will naturally synch with the moon so that she is fertile during the full moon and bleeds during the new.  The Triple Moon symbol speaks to the 4 phases of a woman’s life, maiden, mother, crone and then death.  The waxing moon correlates with the Maiden, the young virginal woman, untouched by man, unfettered by children.  The full Moon correlates with the Mother, a woman at the height of her strength, with the primal power to nourish and give things form.  The Crone is associated then with the waning moon, and it symbolizing that yes her strength is waning, but her wisdom grows with each passing year.  Finally there is the inevitable death, symbolized by the new moon and archetypally by the death crone, the hideous half rotted hag like the Norse Hel or  Izanami of Japan, the Lady of Death who offers priceless wisdom to those who have the courage to look and face her, that priceless wisdom being that death is regeneration, rotting results in the fertile ground for the new.  The cycle never ends, the cycle never breaks, death is the passage to the new.  If one can learn to face this, death loses it’s sting, and that is priceless indeed.

In our culture, a woman’s period very often is viewed as an inconvience at best.  This is especially disconcerting to me.  You can hear it in the misogynist idiots who talk about not trusting something that bleeds for seven days and doesn’t die.  In ancient times a woman’s “dark moon time” was viewed as the height of her power.  The menstrual blood is viewed as regenerating in Sexual Alchemy traditions such as Tantra and across the board it is during this time that a woman’s powers of prophecy were considered to be at their greatest strength.  Part of this is due to at the new moon, during a woman’s period she is closest to her “underworld” dark aspect, and dreams and oracular visions come from the under world.   Bleeding every month is also a woman’s way of renewing herself, flushing out the month before so that at the end of her cycle she can emerge stronger.  Woman need to stop trying to keep up with men during this time, and take the time to rest and sit in introspection.  To hell with people who tell you you need to be able to keep on during your period, they are ignorant to say the least.  You can actually damage yourself if you exert yourself too much during your moon time.  You’re not a man, stop trying to be one.

Which brings me to my final point.  Meditate on these mysteries as there is much more wisdom to be found than what is written on this page.  Stop playing things on men’s terms.  The greatest strength of a woman is her magnetism, implicit in this is gravity and magnetism at it’s extreme, black holes, which can crush anything that enters into them, not even solar masculine light can escape, stick that in you’re pipe and smoke it for awhile:)  Our strength is also our ability to get along with other woman.  Bond together, and bring men to us on our terms, instead of chasing after them, because no matter how good you are, you’re playing their game on their terms, you’re gonna lose.  I said it in my previous post about “the roots of the subjugation of the feminine”, if we women would learn to band together and not give into men until our demands are met, demands like decent compensation for “woman’s” work, like being treated with dignity and respect, men would have now choice but to listen.  Don’t try to go to them, make them come to you, use you’re receptive strength to it’s greatest potential.  I realize this might make me sound like a ball-busting feminist.  The truth is if a man comes to me with honor and respect, I will return it threefold, but if my love and affection are taken for granted and I am ridiculed, I know my power and I have no compunctions about using it.  I believe in the equality of the sexes, one is not better than the other.  We both need each other, but we need to learn to truly understand and respect the fact that we are different, and not be afraid of that fact.  We were created that way for a reason.  A woman’s moody seeming bipolarness, is the way she supposed to be, because we are equipped to dip down into that frightening underworld of death, of emotion, to regenerate ourselves, and those that have the courage to unite with us during that time.  I think the truth is in those matriarchal prehistoric cultures men were treated as inferior, and that paved the way for the pendulum to swing back the other way so that woman are now treated as inferior.  What goes around comes around, and unfortunately among the Goddess/Pagan circles I hang out in, there is definately the notion of male inferiority, which truly saddens me.  We are equal, and we are different.  We were created as such so we might feel the ecstacy of reuniting with each other.

Dreamwork

May 14, 2008 at 2:45 am (magic, medicine, metaphysics, philosophy, shamanism)

The Ancient Egyptians believed that a person was created of several different “bodies”, such as the ba, the ka, the ib, the sheut etc.  They believed that one of these bodies, the ba left a person during their sleep and came back when a person woke up.  The way I look at things is not much different.  I do not know where it is that I go in my sleep, but I most certainly go somewhere, because I have some fantastic dreams.  I dream the future, quite regularly, prophecy was the gift I asked for when I dedicated myself as a priestess.  They come veiled in their own imagery, but for those who are willing to pay attention, dreams are priceless messages being conveyed.  Let me give you a few cases.

One of the most recent dreams I had consisted of three separate dreams.  The first was I drove back to a town from my recent past I wanted to talk to my ex Jason that lived there.  I did and then I went back to wherever it was my current boyfriend Josh was and found jason’s mother cutting his hair, at which point I informed him I was going to sleep with Jason.  Jason’s mother made a comment to Josh at that point sarcastically that he knew how to pick them.  The next dream was of me trying to find Josh at work.  I needed to pick up my son and Josh was uncaring at best, I had to nag him into coming with me to get my son.  The third was me being at this shopping center that is actually a reoccuring setting in my dreams, and I went and hid in the bushes because I was naked, my parents found me and I was angry at them because I was still getting dressed, at which point I was back in the shopping center and my mother was like a demon trying to gore me.  Those were the three dreams that I had in the same night.  This was about two weeks ago.  Now let me tell you what has happened since then.

I went up to a pagan retreat I go to in the area where I used to live.  I went up there for Beltane.  I came back early and had a wonderful two days with Josh.  Monday rolled around and I needed to go to an appointment for energy assistance.  I forgot the get the info i needed from Josh so i had to call him at work.  He was uncaring at best.  When he came home that night we got in a fight that ended the relationship.  He’s been gone for over a week now.  I did not tell my mother right away because I was still too hurting to face her, but she could tell something was wrong and so i told her at which point she started going throught the reality of things in my life, in a way that only mothers do, and it was quite painful.  I since have called my ex Jason and we have started talking again.  I don’t think it takes to much thought to see that I saw that coming.

Another dream I had a few months ago, was that I was looking for this lecture on ancient egypt at the UW.  I was walking through these parking garages and finally I stopped and asked this lady in what looked like a ticket booth and she told me where the lecture was.  I finally found it and I caught the tail end of a lecture on something biology related.  When the lecture ended the professor, whom I had never seen before in all my life, and who I distinctly remembered how he looked, started talking about how it was really stupid that marijuana was illegal.  That was pretty much the dream.

About a month after I had that dream I was driving in madison on my way back from a meeting, when I had to stop at a red light.  It was a few blocks away from the campus, and as I sat there a man walked right in front of my car ( I was a few cars back in the line), and guess what, he was the man from my dream.  He was dressed like an intellectual so I’m pretty sure he was a professor, he was too old to be a student.  I just sat there with my mouth agape.

Another dream I had was one where I was in this hotel with a person from my past who slept with a 16 year old when he was 18 and because of it is a sex offender.  The hotel was somewhere in Indiana, and I distinctly remember it because it was very stately, it had low recessed ceilings with large square columns supporting it.  Again I had never seen the hotel before in all of my life.  I was watching public television a month or two ago and a story came on about a change in sex offender laws, and they were interviewing a woman and guess where she was standing, in that hotel, in Indiana.  I swear I have never seen the place before my dream.

I could go on and on with examples, but the point is pay attention to your dreams.  I have a  dream journal that I keep next to my bed, in which I write down dreams as I wake up, along with two different dream dictionaries.  As you meditate more and get more and more used to conciously experiencing the unconcious, you will find that you can start to control what you do in your dreams.  Like I dream alot that my mother or my sister is chasing me and invariably I run off into the bushes and I never totally evade them.  Well last night I had the same dream but instead I conciously chose to fly off instead, and guess what, I did, and I finally evaded them.  I dreamed the other night that I found the ark of the covenant (or that it found me) and that the cherubim on top were turning and looking at me, a which point I was  afraid because they have the power to zap people.  I predicted getting pregnant with my second son in my dreams, I’ve come up with solutions to problems in my dreams, I’ve even predicted plane crashes.  Dreams are also pyschological tools, they can tell you things you need to work on, things that you are conciously stifling in your waking life that need to be paid attention to, fears that you are trying to cover up ( I already told you a few of mine, for those who can read between the lines:) ).  Dreams are invaluable.  For anyone seriously interested in exploring this side of themselves, I have these recommendations.

-Go to bed clean and showered

-Make sure your bed is comfortable as possible and clean

-Remove or shut off all electrical devices lights what have you that are in your bedroom, these will interfere, that and you’ll sleep better

-Don’t eat within three hours of bedtime, eating late tends to give you nightmares, in addition to making you fat

-Sleep with moonstone, this stone enhances dreams and therefore how well you retain them when you wake.  It may make you dream too vividly though and if it does, sleep with out the moonstone

-Have a dream journal (and a pen) right next to your bed, and write down your dreams as soon as you wake, even if it’s at 3 in the morning

-Invest in a few dream dictionaries, these will help you interpret your dreams

Sweet dreams:)

Centered Perception

March 12, 2008 at 7:46 pm (magic, medicine, metaphysics, philosophy, religion, shamanism)

tree-of-life.jpg

Okay so you start out by knowing yourself as I outlined in the stability and foundation section.   The next step as I see it is to really understand what is going on in the world.  I think far too many of us live in this isolated world, where the only real input is the TV or a person’s circle of friends that they’ve had their entire life and who all think alike.  You need to step out into the world that you don’t know, you need to step out into the unknown.  I’m not saying leave your friends behind.  Your friends will anchor you, and they are true treasures, never burn those bridges.  If you never associate with new people however, you’ll be stuck in the same rut of perception you’re whole life.  Do something out of the ordinary, go someplace you would never go.  Face your fears, and walk in the front door of your own worst hell.  Think about what would be your exact opposite and go there, meet those people.  For me my opposite was becoming a stripper, and I did it for 9 years off and on.  It was the craziest, weirdest most depraved thing I have ever seen, but I would not trade in the experience it gave me for all the world.  I also willingly became a single mother, twice.  I stayed in abusive relationships where I had a gun held to my head, I was punched into a wall and I was raped just to see if I was cheating on the individual.  I did things that no sane person would want to do, but I did it because I wanted to truly know.  A person from my background can easily become isolated, and fall into the trap of elitism.  It’s standard in the world I came from to go to school, go to graduate school, get married, buy a nice little house in the suburbs, have a nice little career, live and die without ever knowing a day of discomfort, but it is also a life of never knowing anything truly real.   I guess my point is you need to see the poles of our world.  All the world is an interplay between yin and yang, creation vs. control, and if you never see another’s perception your world will forever be a mind-numbing gray area.  You need to know the dark to truly know the light.

With a centered perception you will also start to see other things, things you would never guess, other-worldly things.  I see ghosts, and “demons” and “angels”.  Sometimes you will see them as actual entities, orbs of lights, concious shadows, spirits that are green in color, sometimes you will see them manifest in the people you’re interacting with, such as unreasonable anger, attachment, pyschic abilities in person that doesn’t usually have it.  There is a whole other world that people fail to see because they are so sped up and so off balance that they are literally blind.  It is a regular occurance for me to see these things, and even though I’ve been seeing these things since I was four, I still haven’t gotten used to it.  When you look at the world through tranquil eyes, you will see these supernatural things have a direct relationship with our “reality”.  It’s like a fish in a pond in a rainstorm.  The raindrops (spirits) cause ripples in the water (our world).  The fish (us) have no concept of rain (unless your a catfish, i’d consider the shamans and witches of the world to be the catfish), and so are left to wonder at the causes of this phenomena.   I’m sure all sorts of theories would be posed in this world to explain this unseen force, but the truth is that it is something “otherworldly” that’s doing it.  It’s the same thing with supernatural.  Children naturally have the ability to see these things, but most of us by the time we reach adulthood have turned away, either because we were told to by our parents or we didn’t have the stomach to keep looking.  But even if we do not see things, does not mean it’s not there.  Talking the ostrich approach is only hurting you, and your development as an enlightened human being.  Make no mistake there is some freaky disturbing stuff out there, but if you ever want to find heaven (heaven is within you I might add, as is hell) you must look, you must understand.

Believe me you may emerge from such a venture as I am proposing half crazy or even dead if you’re not careful, but you must know these things, you have to understand how the world truly works, to be able to tinker with it.  It is the price any adept pays, you will emerge so changed that few will understand you, and it can be a very lonely path.   You’re free to walk away at any time, but know that even a short jog down the path will change you, even if you do not follow it through to the end.  For those who can handle it, there is the ability to change anything, to have everything you’ve ever truly desired.  Notice I say truly, not everything we think we desire is actually what we truly want.  Sometimes what we want is unconcious, and we do things without knowing it to bring about this hidden desire.   Make sure you really know yourself, I cannot stress it enough.

Stability and foundation

February 24, 2008 at 8:03 pm (magic, medicine, philosophy, religion, shamanism)

8ohm.jpg

To begin with, to be able Will any kind of change, or up the the probability something will happen, Magick, requires that you have a firm foundation to step out from, your integrity.    There will come a point in your work when it will be all you have to cling to, and you have to be able to believe in yourself otherwise you will be ineffective at best.  At worst you will be locked in a living hell of doubt and fear that will drive you insane.  I have seen it with my own two eyes the effect of an ill prepared person invoking the power of the Gods.  It will ravage you from the inside out until you are an absolute void.  You see Magick works the fundamental tenant that is common in a lot of Eastern thought, by our thoughts we create the world.  That statement is not a euphamism for something else, a different intepretation or a hidden meaning, take that at face value, it is a direct relationship.  If your inner world is full of self defeating, self doubting voices, they will only grow louder if you add Magick into the equation and they will begin to manifest externally.  Make no mistake, Magick and the Divine, is nothing to be trifled with.  There are many testaments through out history of the fact that contact with God, is the most fundamentally disturbing and therefore frightening experiences a person can have.  If you have not learned yourself and your motives and have not sufficiently reeled your emotions in, it will destroy you.  I cannot emphasize this enough.

So that being said I start this treastise with the preparation a person must go throw to be able to handle such revelations.  The two biggest things as far as I see it are diet and meditation.  Most aestetic traditions exspouse a strictly vegetarian diet.  The reasons for this when you boil it down is that it clouds your mind.  Conciousness is imbued in every fiber of your being, and it is no different with an animal.  They are concious sentient beings, that have thoughts hopes and fears just like we do and you eat that when you eat an animal.  This has nothing to do with meat is murder or any other ecological or moral statement I have or could make, it just interferes with your own conciousness.  Next is to remove any intoxicant in your diet, and I’m not just talking about drugs or alchohol, I am talking about sugar, refined grains, coffee, cigarettes and artificial chemicals or any kind including prescription drugs, pesticides, preservatives and the like.  If it didn’t grow out of the ground, don’t eat it, if speeds you up or slows you down, dont eat it.  As I have expounded throughout my entire blog a whole foods diet is imperative.

Once you have a handle on that, and it will take a awhile (don’t push yourself to hard, any abrupt change in diet will be a harmful shock to the system, do this gradually) , you should start concentrating on meditation.  I find the model of the seven chakras as a good place to strike out from if you feel more comfortable with and established map of conciousness, but I started out by just sitting quietly and calming my mind.  You will eventually drop into a dreamlike state where you are concious of all that is going on around you but deeply in tune with your emotions.  When I first started I was under the impression that extenal sensory input was supposed to cease, but usually it is the exact opposite, you are super sensitive and super concious, disturbances must be eliminated when meditating because when you’re interupted by your phone ringing in the middle of sorting out painful childhood traumas it hits like a hammer to the head and leaves you with not really a headache but kind of a strange feeling of suffocation, either way it is definately not fun and it is not healthy.  When you reach this dreamlike state, you are in tune with the True Self, your very own God within.  Each and every one of us has this within, this is the eternal flame if you will, the light of hope that never goes out in a person no matter how exploited or depraved they may become.  This is the voice of truth within a person and it is to this one must always hold.  You may have spontaneous thoughts in this state, or you may have to ask the questions instead, either way this is the key to knowing oneself, and it is this inner voice that you must pacify and reckon with, nobody else’s opinion matters.  This is the man in the mirror you must satisfy.  I do not know the exact mind of everybody who will read this but go where it hurts, explore those feelings and do not be afraid of them.  You have more to fear from not looking.  Try to understand you fundamental nature and why you do things, expose all shadows.  Beware of getting lost though, I have spontaneously bawled my eyes out during meditation, and the pain can be enough to be overwhelming.  The point is acknowledging things and resolving them, not getting lost in a eternal revisitation of the pain that caused it.  Release is good, blowing open the doors of the crypt if you will, but set a limit.  You are looking into the eyes of both life and death when you look into the eyes of the divine, and death has a way of entrancing its victims, do not stare into the eyes of shadow to long, for you may find your very life blood being sucked out.  Do not try to do it all at once either, it takes time, I don’t care who you are nobody has the ability to sort through a lifetime of trauma in one sitting.

I should also mention a tool that has been very helpful for me, Divination.  I regularly consult the Taoist Oracle book, the I Ching, something I will get into more later, but you can find copies of it in any bookstore.  There are other forms of divination such as Tarot or Runes, but I have found the most success with the I Ching.  Such things work by consulting that God within that you consult during meditation, and they are a direct reflection of the unconcious.  If you hit a roadblock or are stumped by something, this can get you back on your way once more.  I do readings almost everyday, on just about everything.  A word of caution though, do not consult Oracles when you are emotional upset.  Because they work with the unconcious and as a result with your emotions, consulting them when one is angry, hurt or emotionally disturbed, will throw off the readings, and you will end up driving yourself nuts trying to sort it out.

This process will take years, a lifetime actually, learning never stops.  The point is in the journey not the destination.  But for deep psychological healing a time frame is hard to gauge, for some it make take months for others it may take years.  For me it took about 5 years of introspection and purification to get to a point where I had near unshakable confidence in myself, I say near because doubt is always there, it’s just a question of limits just like in calculus, you can approach the limit of absolute self confidence, but you cannot never entirely get there and if you do I think it is indicative of a weakness if you think your infallible.   You must believe that you are good, and when you reach that point, you are ready.

Global Death Wish

February 23, 2008 at 12:00 am (environmental, magic, medicine, shamanism)

hope.jpg

So time for more of my random observations.  I am flabbergasted at the amount of pessimistic people that I encounter on a daily basis.  Not only are they pessimistic, but they feel threatened by a person who has hopes and ideas to make the world better.  Day in a day out I deal with people who are willing to stauchly defend outmoded ideas even though they have very little experience or knowledge of the subject.  I guess it stems from that fact that to change one aspect of their perception would result in a domino effect that eventually would threaten their entire world view and I suppose I can sympathize with that, lord knows I wish I had more stability to cling to, it certainly would help my emotional health.  Anyway I digress.  The pessimism I encounter is indicative a very deep and serious problem.  Belief.  People don’t believe their world can get any better and so it doesn’t.  For whatever reason be it too complicated, painful, scary or whatever they don’t look within themselves and realize they have the power to change everything.   This lack of hope is translating into as I see it a global death wish.  The armageddon type mentality that says things cannot be fixed so lets just throw in the towel.  My friends we are going to get our wish if we continue on this path and I don’t know about anybody else but I was raised with the idea that you take care of the gifts you’re given and you don’t give up.  Which brings me to my next point, spell work.  To often it is passed off as something some vengeful wart ridden social outcast does in her spare time, but whereas that does exist, that is quite far from all it is and magic has the potential to create heaven on earth.  In the upcoming weeks I am going to do a thing unheard of for a witch (good thing I’m not truly a witch:) ), I’m going to publish parts of my grimoire.  I also am going to start discussing magical theory and practice, including diet and the concept of a person being a universe onto themselves, a universe that directly affects the outside world.  The intended effect of this is to start educating the hordes of viewers I have (can you smell the sarcasm?) of an alternative way to foment positive change in the world.  It is very disturbing what is happening these days and even more disturbing is the fact that nobody thinks anything can change, but each and every one of us has a small spark of the divine within us and if we do not choose to use our power for ourselves someone or something else will come in and use it.  So be it misguided or not that will now be the focus of my writing.  I hope you find it enlightening:)

Strategy and Wisdom

libertyleadingthepeople-eugenedelac.jpg

This issue, the destruction of the northwoods entails many things, not just the fight at hand. Change needs to come on a deeper level.  We live in a gigantic web so to speak and movement in one area of that web results in sympathetic affects in another.  The point has to be made that these forests would not be endangered if the need for the products they are used for declined or was redirected, or if people cut down on their on grid electrical consumption(kill your TV!!!).  The forest goes to either paper or pulp industries.  Everyday I see the trains(trains always reminded me of dragons) coming from Lignotech/Weyerhauser (paper manufacturers in the Wausau area, where I live) from the Northwoods with absolutely appaling amounts of trees in tow.  See the greater issue here is of balance, knowledge tempered with wisdom, and it is the foundation of all the issues we face today.

As far as I see it there is really only one thing to do, destroy these corporations at the root.  If they lose business they lose money and if they lose money they lose investors and eventually they will wither and die.    As to changing the logging of the forest I am doing further research on who is doing the buying and will plan action accordingly.  I fear I am over my head somewhat with the mining right now.  I am putting my clean legal record on the chopping block for this.  I do not agree with the policies and actions of my government and the corporations that run it and if I am a criminal for it that so be it.  If people do not stand up there will be no world to save, and it will come sooner than you think.  I am not going to be one of the doomsday ranks who believe the world is going to end anyway so why should I care.  We stand on the brink of either global enlightenment or global annihilation, and it is entirely up to us which it is.  .  It is a choice that is as old as the universe itself, has been presented to every generation before us and will be presented to every generation after us.  What you believe is what will happen.  It is the small local battles that are going to decide this and the result depends on whether we can ground ourselves and focus on what we can do and not get overwhelmed by what we can’t.  If everybody who reads this, focuses on the local environmental polluters and destroyers in their area, we’ll stop this madness very quickly.  Be the change you wish to see in the world and be not afraidJ

Wisdom in food choices

June 14, 2007 at 10:14 pm (environmental, medicine)

g1sekhmet.jpg

With the power we have gained we most learn to use it wisely. Oriental healing theory is approxiamately 5000 yrs old (from henceforth when I refer to oriental healing it is not just Chinese, but the three ancient oriental healing systems I have studied, Egyptian, Chinese and Aryveda).   It is based on sound observation, intuition and experience.  I cannot go into all of it, for I would end up writing a very long book, but there are some things that need to be mentioned in the context of the problems we face today.  I honestly believe the natural world is a direct reflection of our conciousness, and if we heal ourselves we will heal the earth.

Food is key here.  You are what you eat.  There is a priciple in Aryveda, the Vedic system I have studied, called Sattva.  It basically states that the conciousness of whatever you eat will meld with yours and so you will take on the properties of what you ate.  You are literally what you eat. That being said, the various convoluted, unethical porecesses our food goes through needs to be paid attention to.  Agriculture in this country needs some serious revising.  I am a vegetarian, so I am anti meat, but most Americans are not and we’re not going to break the carnivores overnight of their addiction to flesh.  What we can do however is work out the kinks in the system so that so much biomass is not wasted.  As it stands right now, 80% of the grain grown in this country goes to feed livestock.  As you go up the food chain you lose a factor of ten in energy, so that when you get to something like tuna, a secondary consumer, the energy it provides is 1000% less effiecient  then if you ate some beans.  On top of that, in the fields of Iowa, the equivalent energy to prep the field for either corn or wheat is equivalent to three to four tons of TNT per acre.  A normal grassland prarie ecosystem produces more biomass naturally than our most advanced wheat field. The supposed problem is that it’s in the form of grasses that we cannot palate.  But with 80% of our grain production going to feed feedlot animals wouldn’t it make more sense to go let them graze on the natural prares?  They can eat it.  There were more bison produced naturally on the great plains before farming then all of the beef cattle farmed in the same area today.  Not only that but it gives them a much better quality of life.  I don’t know about anybody else, but my biggest beef with meat-eating is the lack of respect and dignity given to these animals, the appalling inhumane conditions they spend their entire life in.  Not only would it free up farmland to grow things like hemp (which paper among other things can be made out of)  but it would reduce our dependency on oil, as most commercial fertilizers are petroleum based, not to mention save a sizable chunk of change considering the government subsidizes this whole nonsense.   Another thing that could be done is avoid all refined sugars.  The health benefits of eliminating that and any refined grain (breakfast cereals included) from a persons diet are amazing.  Sugar should be classified as an addictive drug.  It was an industry founded on the suffering and death of countless Africans, and that darkness rules it still.  In our current age of anxiety and stress, these refined foods further accelerate and destabilize our bodies’ metabolism.  Magnesium, a mineral found in brown rice and stoneground wheat (make sure the ingredient label says stoneground because otherwise it’s been refined) directly acts to break up what scientists have dubbed the anxiety peptide the forms in the brain.  The magnesium found in whole grains cures restless legs, muscle cramps and spasms and has a general stabilizing effect on the  body and mind.  The amount of energy to manufacture refined products, that are only slowly killing you anyway is absurd.  Two thirds of grain corn is used for further processing.  45% of this goes into making sugar, The rest goes into making ultra-refined products such as ethanol (ethanol is not a fuel holy-grail).  This would also significantly cut down on the algae blooms choking our waterways and causing the dead zone in the gulf of mexico.  It would also cut global warming by eliminating the gases released from fertilizers and leave more trees to clean the air.  Anyone who wants further information on this subject should visit http://www.harpers.org/archive/2004/02/0079915

On a related note, I stumbled across a myth on Hathor, the Egyptian Goddess of mothers and of children.  When not depicted as a nursing human mother, she was depicted as a cow.  The story goes that Ra, her father found out humanity was plotting against him, he sent his burning eye (mind you Ra was a sun god) and it took the form of Hathor, who as her “alter-ego” if you will, Sekhmet(the lioness headed goddess), started destroying all of humanity. Now maybe this is a stretch, but I believe all ancients stories speak of some truth, however long forgotten it may be.  We are starting to see the effects of Global warming (burning eye of the sun) and it can be directly linked with in addition to fertilizers, such things as manure from mega cattle and dairy farms(Hathor).  This chokes our waterways, interfereing with the natural respiration cycles and water cycles of our world, preventing rain from naturally washing CO2 out of the atmosphere.  Interesting coincidence, or long forgotten truth?  I know what I think. Nurturing and nursing is not easy, I feel so sorry for the cows that are impregnated by artificial means (if your going to have a baby, you should at least have fun creating it).  Their children are taken away from them to be chained up in a small isolated plastic hut, then their slaughtered to be tender meat for somebodies descerning palette.  Dairy cows are hooked up to machines that are degrading (if you’ve every used an electric breastpump in public, you know what I mean) and that can literally blowup and injure a teat.  And then when these cows are spent, they are discarded like trash and sent to the slaughter house.  For creature that gives us so much, we treat Hathor’s sacred cows horribly.

Fundamental flaws of the Western approach to healing

June 14, 2007 at 10:13 pm (medicine, philosophy)

cad-grey1.jpg

In ancient britian and other areas, the role of priestess included not only being an intermediary with the gods, but a healer as well.  They were trained in magic, herblore, music etc.  This is great wisdom in this approach because humans are not just flesh and bone.  They are emotional complex beings of several different types of energy, western medicine completely fails to see this so as a result they completely fail to heal.

Everything is interrelated.  A drive through a major city theses days begins to roughly look like a drive through a transistor board, and as more and more people get sick (and believe me they know people are getting sick and they know why, it is just not profitable to cure them) the hospital more often then not dominates the landscape. Western Medicine runs on the assumption that the body is to some extent fundamentally flawed and that you cannot totally rely on the natural healing and immunity systems of the body to fix it.  This is as far as I am concerned a direct off shoot of the Patriarchal thought of subjugate the unconscious, because just as the unconscious is rooted in the sacral/kidneys, so is the lymph and immune systems of the body.  As a result I think there are in reality very few true success stories arising from such a healing framework.  I was stunned and overjoyed to see as I walked downtown today that there is a federal initiative to see how many people really do die in hospitals.  Their solution is to use a whole crap load of fancy equipment (again because their own intuition, from the unconscious, might be flawed) that uses a whole crap load of electricity and magnetism and in the end they either cut you open or send you home with a bunch of pills that are so unstable and powerful, half the time they only succeed in making you sick in a different way than the one you first went in for. Immunizations are one of the most insidious things I have ever seen. You have only so much life essence to fuel your immune system unless you practice the regeneration I mentioned previously.  Pumping it full of dead viruses that cause an immune response (building anti-bodies) is capriciously spending a most precious reserve.  If you bath regularly in pure water, drink pure water and eat healthy, whole foods, you will not get sick.  My son and I are living proof of it.

As far as I am concerned, corporate heathcare is in it for the money, in direct violation of the Hippocratic oath that all physicians make. They are greedy, egotistical oathbreakers and as a result I feel that they deserve no less than being destroyed, not necessarily destroying them as people, but that their healing “art” should be destroyed.  In addition, modern Psychiatry is hell on earth.  First off, Freud was a coke-addict that cheated on his wife.  Secondly whereas I think he did have some great insights I think he fell into the common trap of western thought that things should be simple, they should be black or white.   Heaven or Hell, right or wrong, a direct off shot of Christian Dualist thought.  To take any drug, whether it be street or pharmacuetial, operates on the fundamental premise that a person is not good enough they way they are.  I’m sorry but we are created the way we are for a reason, and letting a person’s conciousness be taken over by a drug is beyond horrible.  It strikes me as being the same category as possession.  I have taken psychology in college, and I could barely get through the course, not because it was over my head, but because of the inhumane, numb and removed approach it took.  It was horrible to open up my book to see picture of animals that had been experimented on with switches mounted on their skulls and electrodes in their brains.  As a supporter of animal liberation and a person who has done animal rescues this was beyond disturbing to see.  Mahatma Ghandhi once said “the greatness of a nation and it’s moral progress can be judged in the way in which it’s animals are treated”.  This cruelty, this inhuman atriocity that that is animal research is what all of western medicine is based off of.  Again, if looked at through the perspective that what is present at the beginning of something is what will rule it throughout it’s entire existence, it is no surprise to me that they have become what they are.

Taking back the wand of double power, oh yeah

Chrisitian thought teaches that the unconscious, the realm of dreams and of the dark goddesses, is evil. There is a whole gambit of woes and ills that arise from this condemnation of our “lower” self. In my studies the subconscious arises from the sacral chakra or the kidneys and it is associated with element of water. It is the root of fear, of sexuality, of security, of intuition, of prophecy and psychic power and of one’s sense of others. It is very the basis of our being. It is also the font of immortality, the Tree of Life of Genesis, cleverly hid inside of us, where few dare to look. This condemnation of natural law and function was the reason Christianity was reviled in the first three centuries of it’s existence. It was not until Constantine in the 300’s adopted it as the official religion of the Roman empire did it become popular, and Constantine did it as a way of uniting people (just as with the mythical King Arthur), and thus controlling them better. Don’t get me wrong, I think Jesus was a prophet. However, I also think he was an adept and one of the most powerful ones the world has ever seen. I have heard theories that he was familiar with Egyptian magic and that quite possibly Mary Magdalene might have been his wife, and that she was a Priestess of Isis. I think everyone is familiar with the symbol for the American Medical Association, the two serpents curling around a staff. That symbol’s name is the Caduceus Wand, and it is the wand of Thoth or Tehuti, the ibis headed Egyptian god of wisdom, magic and of utterance. He is the scribe, patron god of Egyptian physicians and keeper of secret knowledge. The symbology of the wand is directly related to the cult of Isis. The one serpent is the solar serpent, the essence of light, the other is the lunar serpent, the essence of void. In the sexual magic of Isis, and in Tantra (although they only have one serpent, the Kundalini) if one knows how to do the visualizations, at the moment of orgasm you can charge up the bodies of the two participants with these serpents and resultant subtle magnetics, regenerating the couple past their original form until they shine like the stars and are the gods themselves. All they have to do is think of something and it will manifest. Sounds vaguely similar to the miracles performed by Jesus if I might be so bold. It is a means to immortality and it according to legend is how Isis brought her consort Osiris back to life. I find it horribly ironic that the AMA, who in my opinions only seems to make people more sick, adopted this most holy symbol as theirs. If I ever have my own practice, I will have a gigantic picture of Tehuti with his wand of double power (the Caduceus Wand) on the front door where everybody who drives by will see it. It is also no coincidence that Tehuti is sometimes pictured as a baboon with an enormous phallus, and that phallic worship was common in Ancient Egypt. The wand of double power can be a euphamism for a man’s penis, and it speaks directly to the regenerative power of love-making. I have to say it, regardless of how it may make me sound, if more people busied themselves with love and pleasure, the world would be healed. It is the reset button on a person. No matter how crappy a day you may be having, the bliss found in the arms of your lover can fix anything. It is a harmless release of emotion and negativity

The roots of the subjugation of the feminine

June 14, 2007 at 10:11 pm (environmental, magic, medicine, philosophy, shamanism)

goddess.jpg

If we’d just learn to share and not be afraid of each other this would all stop.  Looking within results in the inevitable conclusion that we are all one and so we all want pretty much the same things.  There is nothing to fear in your fellow man, if you would only look.  So many people live in the terminal state of loneliness and few ever figure out why.  So many people look to material wealth as a way of filling the hole, and the more they consume the less they truly live, dooming themselves to a downward spiral of greed and paranoia, because with all this material wealth comes the fear of it being taken away.  It is a story as old as society itself.  Why humans moved to agriculture instead of hunting and gathering had nothing to do with it being more efficient, or more healthy, it had to do with wealth, storing up reserves.  I have to point out that we moved in this direction after the last ice age, which I’m sure must have scared the pants off our ancestors.  Just as it is today, unresolved fear turns into anger and anger turns into greed and egotism hence the start of the selfish practice of agriculture.  I believe it was a direct reaction to the ice age and the introduction of fear into our world.  And when man started trying to control his mother the earth, he also started trying to control the mother of his children.  Humanity originally started out as egalitarian.  Fear and egotism was the birth of patriarchal society.  Trying to control those two factors in his life resulted in the inevitable domino effect of attempting to control his wealth and resultant paranoia that his neighbor was going to steal it, the start of fear of one’s fellow man.  Sadly humanity has not been able to step back and effectively see this and so it continues to make the same mistake.

Women need to take it upon themselve to educate themselves, acknowledge what power they do have and learn the unify with other women.  We can return to an egalitarian society if we as women band together and do not give men what they want until our demands have been met.  If every woman in the countyr banded together what would the abusive assholes that seem to be springing up by the thousands do?  Kill us all? No, they would be forced to behave themselves.  Women have phenominal power, they need to learn to use it though and they need to learn to stick together in communities.  In the long run everyone will benefit.
